I have gladly recommended celeco to numerous teachers I know. I have also started an initiative with my husband (he is a teacher, subject leader and head teacher himself) at his school and our son’s school to buy a school licence. I believe this is already being planned. In both cases, these are comprehensive schools that provide extensive remedial teaching for children with reading and spelling difficulties. As parents of a child with a visual disorder, we have been on quite an odyssey through the various therapy programmes on this subject. We then enrolled our son in a private institute so that he could also be trained in spelling with his newly acquired visual skills. The result of the one-year course was nil, but extremely expensive. The software used there is outdated and at best a stone-age version of the celeco programme. I came across your programme more by chance and we ordered it immediately. Unfortunately, we no longer practised regularly, but we noticed that our son was able to significantly improve his reading speed with the help of the programme. The flexibility of the system helped us with the training; we simply entered his favourite texts, e.g. Harry Potter. Today, he reads independently, fluently and with good comprehension, even if he is still a little slower than other children. His spelling has improved, but is still far from good and, strangely enough, depends heavily on his form on the day. In view of the large number of children with this problem, I think it is very important to have a programme on the market that is also reasonably affordable.
