As a speech therapist, I became aware of celeco through the recommendation of the mother of a child with a central hearing impairment and reading difficulties. I have been working in the field of reading and spelling promotion for a number of years, but since then the visual aspect has been neglected. In celeco I discovered a method that not only implements the latest scientific findings in the didactics and methodology of reading promotion, but also takes into account the visual perception-specific aspects of the acquisition of written language. celeco has been missing on the German market ever since, as it is based on central visual processing in the reading process. The programme itself is extremely convenient (determination of reading content, definition of gaze jump sizes, duration of perception, etc.). The texts provided are stimulating and motivating, which appeal to the vast majority of my clients and challenge them to read voluntarily. Clients usually come to me every two weeks to have their rapid reading progress diagnosed and to initiate further support. celeco supports both first-time readers and advanced readers and systematically leads to improved reading skills. As celeco is carried out at home, preferably for ten minutes a day, it helps to reduce costs for those who spend a lot of money on dyslexia courses, which often have a very low success rate. All in all, celeco is a method of acquiring reading skills that has never been available in this form before and that offers reading progress at the highest level and has also been realised, at least with my clients, so far. Against this background, it is also a helpful tool for speech therapists, reading teachers, dyslexic therapists etc., which they should not do without, because when celeco is used, the learning and reading progress is actually potentiated by the fact that not only reading and writing exercises are offered, but the centrally controlled visual perception-specific causes of reading difficulties are positively influenced (one could also speak of causal therapy for reading disorders).
