DESCRIPTION:Geplante Sonderausgabe von Brain Sciences\nDas Wissenschaftsjournal “Brain Sciences” plant die Veröffentlichung einer Sonderausgabe zum Thema: \n„Developmental Dyslexia: Theories and Experimental Approaches“ \nmit Prof Dr. Dr. Reinhard Werth\, Universität München als Gastherausgeber. \n  \nSpecial Issue\nThe journal Brain Sciences (ISSN 2076-3425); IF=3.394) invited me to edit a Special Issue entitled: \n“Developmental Dyslexia: Theories and Experimental Approaches?” \nIn recent decades\, experimental approaches have been undertaken to examine the psychological and linguistic aspects of developmental dyslexia\, and to clarify its neuroanatomical and neurophysiological bases. They have demonstrated sensory and behavioral abnormalities that are more common in dyslexic readers than in normal readers\, and discovered brain structures that exhibit symptoms of unusual processing and anatomical abnormalities in these individuals\, but have not demonstrated a causal relationship. \nTheories have proposed explanations for the nature of developmental dyslexia and have stimulated therapeutic interventions. However\, these theories cannot sufficiently explain what causes developmental dyslexia\, in what way altered neurobiological processing leads to developmental dyslexia\, and which therapeutic interventions are appropriate to eliminate or compensate for the impairments that lead to developmental dyslexia. The scope of this special issue is to present experimental approaches and theories that contribute to the understanding of developmental dyslexia\, its causal relationships\, and lead to new therapeutic approaches. \n The journal Brain Sciences (ISSN 2076-3425); IF=3.394) invited me to edit a Special Issue entitled “Developmental Dyslexia: Theories and Experimental Approaches?” In this Special Issue the scope of an earlier Special Issue on the magnocellular theory of developmental dyslexia has been extended. Considering your ongoing research\, and in recognition of your great expertise in this field\, I would like to invite you to contribute an article focusing on developmental dyslexia theories. You are welcome to submit original research articles\, reviews and case reports.
